Who is Glen Weatherhead
From an early age, Glen has been writing and telling stories. Inspired by some of his childhood favorites, like The Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and Red Wall, Glen creates fantastical worlds to explore and share with others. Taking these stories to dive deep into subjects of justice, courage and adventure, while also using these stories to bring hope in the midst of dark times. He writes stories of regular and heroic people struggling against insurmountable odds to protect what is dear to them.
He is also known in the writing community for founding Creative Writing Wizard, which supports, encourages, and provides resources for writers and aspiring authors. His Indie Release Radar has supported hundreds of authors as they release their books and was shortlisted for the London Book Fair – 2025 Trailblazer award. Who is Fireward Publishing
Fireward Publishing exists to bring stories of hope to light.
There is much in the world that can be troubling or distressing, but Fireward Publishing was founded to share this core belief: there is hope. Stories like The Lord of the Rings and The Expanse show a small group of people doing what they can to do good in the face of tragedy, powerful darkness, and uncertain times.
One of our favorite quotes comes from The Lord of the Rings, that “there’s some good in the world… and it’s worth fighting for.” We believe this and we work to share stories that encourage, inspire, and resonate with people reading and listening to the works of human creativity.
In 2024, Glen Weatherhead, did what all authors need to do in today’s market: start building an author platform. So he created a few accounts and started posting on socials, like everyone else.
As he did so, he saw how many people were having a tough time finding books they’d love and sifting through the sea of titles. It was around this time that Glen read the book Love Does (by Bob Goff) and felt inspired by its message to not just feel empathy for authors and readers alike, but to do something.
So he started the Indie Release Radar, a central place to showcase new and recently released indie books (and no AI!). The response was immense and immediate, with authors and readers flooding in. This effort also gained international attention, as he was shortlisted as a finalist for the London Book Fair Trailblazer Award for this work.
Glen saw that this needed to be taken to the next level, and so he founded Fireward Publishing to be a place where people can find books that they connect with on a personal level and to support indie authors in cutting through the noise worsened by the rise of Generative AI.
Giving Back
We also believe in doing what we can to support those in need around the world. There are many people in the world who long for basic human needs like food, education, security, and housing. That is why we are supporting Ally Global.
Ten percent of all of our profits are donated to this cause (profits being revenue minus cost of production and delivery of services). Whether you buy directly from us or where our books are sold, we will donate.
For every book or signed copy sold, approximately $1.25 from each unsigned copy and $2 from each signed copy goes toward their work supporting vulnerable children and youth. By supporting our authors, you are part of the effort to support these groups around the world.
